Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival Yangon

Upon arrival at Yangon International Airport, meet your local guide and transfer to your hotel. Your sightseeing begins by visiting Chaukhtatkyi Pagoda which houses the fourth largest colossal reclining Buddha, the Kabar Aye Pagoda, a significant for its Sixth Synod, the Mahapasana Cave and then photo stops in the heart of Yangon such as Sule Pagoda, Maha Bandoola Park housing the Independence Monument, City Hall, High Court and many colonial style buildings.

Evening tour of the magnificent Shwedagon pagoda, a landmark of Myanmar and one of the greatest wonders of the world. Overnight at Hotel in Yangon (D)

Day 02: Yangon-Heho-Inle Lake

Breakfast at hotel. Morning transfer to airport for flight to Heho for Inle Lake. En route we stop at Shwe Yan Pyay Monastery. After check in to your hotel, later enjoy a boat ride on Inle Lake for the rest of the afternoon. Your sightseeing will start with a visit to the floating gardens, Phaungdawoo Pagoda, Ngaphaechaung Monastery (Jumping Cats’), blacksmith, silk and cotton weaving factories, silver smith, cheroot Industry and boat making factory etc, Overnight at Hotel in Inle. (BD)

Day 03: Inle Lake sightseeing

Breakfast at hotel. Inle Lake is surrounded by hazy blue Mountains and is home to the Intha people, who constructed villages on stilts over the surface of the lake and farm floating islands created from mud and reed. It is a water world, where the only mode of transportation is by boats propelled by a unique leg rowing method.

We visit Indein village, located at the western side of the lake. Passing Nyaung Ohak Monastery and following a stair path lined with many hundreds of wooden columns, you will reach the impressive Shwe Indein Pa-O complex. From the hillside you have great view over the lake area. On the way back to the boat, walk through a romantic bamboo forest on the riverside, a popular swimming spot for the locals.

Today, if market day is scheduled, you will visit the very famous of 5 day market where the hill tribes gather to trade their farm produce as well as art and wooden sculptures in a bustling atmosphere. Overnight in Hotel (BD)

Day 04: Inle Lake-Pindaya-Kalaw (by boat/by car)

Morning drive to Pindaya enjoying the scenic beauty of the countryside along the way. VisitPindayaCaves, well known for its Buddha statues carved out of limestone. Then a short stop at an ancient Banyan trees. Mulberry papermaking factory and bamboo hat making factory. We continue on to Kalaw: was a popular hill station during the British days. It sits at an elevation above 4000-feet, on the western edge of the Shan Plateau. It is still a peaceful and quiet place with an atmosphere reminiscent of the colonial era. Day 05: Kalaw-Mt. Popa-Bagan (by car)

After early breakfast at hotel, proceed to Bagan about 8-9 hour drive. On the way excursion to Popa which rises 1518 meter from the flat surroundings. It is a core of an extinct volcano and believed to be the abode of the legendary “Nats” or the spirit Gods. En route stop at a Toddy field to observe how to make Jaggery, Toddy Juice and Peanut Oil.

Day 06: Bagan

After breakfast, morning visit to Nyaung Oo colourful Market and the Shwezigon Pagoda, a prototype of later Myanmar stupa. Later a visit to Wetkyi-in Gubyaukkyi Temple with fine mural paintings of Jataka scenes.

Continue your tour by visiting Manuha Temple with gigantic Buddha images, a captive king’s impression of life in prison; Nanpaya, an Early-style temple with the finest stone carvings, Ananda Temple, an architectural masterpiece resembling a Greek Cross and Shwesandaw Pagoda for the beautiful sunset. Overnight at Hotel in Bagan (BD)

Day 07: Bagan

After breakfast, we tour by horse carriage the Shwe Gukyi temple for the panoramic morning beauty of old Bagan area. Here you will have the chance to study the ruined palace site of Bagan. Visit to the highesttempleofBagan“Thatbyinnyu”, Dhammayangyi, a massive temple with the finest brickwork, Sulamuni temple where you can see fine frescos from 18th century Kone Baung era and it also has a beautiful back round history so make sure you get that.

Afternoon visiting begins with Minnan-Thu village to see the typical Myanmar style of village life. Then proceed to Lay Myathna and Phaya Thonezu Temple. Overnight at Hotel in Bagan. (BD)

Day 08: Bagan-Pakokku –Monywa

After early breakfast, transfer to Pokokku by boat cross the Ayeyarwaddy River. Upon arrival at Pakokku,  we visit the local market, weaving industry, peanut snacks making cottage and pay a visit to Mohnyin Thanboddhay Pagoda: where a half million of Buddha images exist. We finish the day off at Bodhi Tahtaung Pagod, site of a thousand of Banyan trees and a 300 foot long reclining Buddha image. Overnight at Hotel in Monywa.  (BD)

Day 09: Monywa-Mandalay

After early breakfast, morning crossing the Chindwin River by local ferry. Continue by road to Shweba Hill and Powin Taung caves. Then drive to Mandalay. Overnight at Hotel in Mandalay. (BD)

Day 10: Mandalay-Amarapura-Ava-Sagaing-Mandalay

Today we tour the ancient royal capital of Amarapura and visit Maha-gandayon Monastery (Buddhist University); U Bein Wooden Bridge, over 150 years long wooden bridge and silk weaving factory. Then proceed to Ava (Inwa), to visit Bagaya Monastery, Nanmyint Watch Tower and Maha Aungmye Bonzan brick monastery.
In the afternoon sightseeing’s in Sagaing are Ywataung Village, well-known for its silver craftsmen; Kaunghmudaw, an enormous solid dome-shaped pagoda; and picturesque Sagaing Hills, offer panoramic view of the valleys and a retreat for Buddhist saints. Overnight at Hotel in Mandalay. (BD)

Day 11: Mandalay-Mingun-Mandalay

After breakfast we transfer by boat to Mingun. Worth visit pleases at Mingun are Mingun Pagoda: the biggest brick pile or the biggest unfinished pagoda, Mingun bell: the biggest ringing bell in the world and outstanding Mya Thein Tan pagoda.

Back in Mandalay, we visit the Mya Nan San Kyaw Palace. This golden palace represents Myanmar Sovereignty and independence and can arouse national patriotic spirit among Myanmar people. We continue on to Shwenandaw Monastery and Kuthodaw Pagoda, often called the world’s largest book (a set of 729 huge stone slabs on which the Buddhist scriptures are inscribed). We finish the tour by visiting Mandalay Hill, the natural watch-tower for the visitors to watch sunrise or sunset over the city plains. Overnight at hotel in Mandalay. (BD)

Day 12: Mandalay-Yangon

Breakfast at hotel. Morning transfer to airport for return flight to Yangon. On arrival atYangonairport, transfer to hotel for check in.

In the afternoon, visit shopping in the Bogyoke market formerly “Scott market”, where you can get a wide range of Myanmar handicraft, jewelry, fabrics and lacquer wares followed by a visit to Botahtaung Pagoda, a famous landmark on Yangon’s waterfront where one can see Buddha’s hair relic, Nanthida Jetty to witness the daily life of the local people. Overnight at Hotel in Yangon. Day 13: Departure Yangon

Breakfast at hotel. Morning free at leisure until transfer to airport for departure (B)
